My poem in response to this weeks challenge
On the school run, we spot Christmas Trees
in recycling bins all along our street,
Once they were green and fulsome, taking pride of place
in the front rooms of the flats
and houses on our street.
Adorned with light & love & handmade ornaments.
Now their former owners are now starting over, relieved to bin them
to sweep up their fallen needles, to start 2013 afresh.
My son & I pause at one large tree
Silently contemplating the cycle of starting over
what we need to leave behind
to start again.
